I’m a Manila-born, Hawaii-raised, Filipina American. I love women’s sports (especially women’s basketball and the WNBA) and enjoy playing pick-up basketball at a local gym (pre-COVID).
From the University of Washington (UW), I earned my MS in Information Management (UW iSchool) and BA in English, minor in History. I was a UW Jackson School International Policy Institute (IPI) Cybersecurity Fellow, a Collaborative Project Scholar at the UW Center for Communication, Difference and Equity (UW CCDE), and a recipient of UW iSchool Dean’s Fellowship.
My professional experience include working as a cybersecurity consultant where I performed security compliance assessments for various cloud-based tech companies. Additionally, I have experience leading nonprofits, community technology programs, and have a background in teaching culturally-sensitive STEM & arts education.
Community building and advocacy is very important to me, and I do my best to stay engaged with a number of local Seattle organizations I’ve served in. From the greater Seattle region: STEM Paths Innovation Network (SPIN), The Sisterhood of Pi Nu Iota, UWAA Multicultural Alumni Partnership (MAP), Filipino Community of Seattle, Filipino American National Historic Society (FANHS), Filipino American Student Association at UW, and the Duwamish Valley Youth Corps. With one of my best friends and colleagues, I started Queerfire, a queer employee resource group at my previous company.
